Alaska Glacier Kayaking to Mendenhall — Juneau Shore Excursion

Cinematic 4K footage kayaking and hiking Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska — paddling across a deep glacial lake carved over centuries, walking on ancient ice, and exploring deep blue ice caves. A shore excursion filmed through the eyes of a guide who moved to Alaska on a ferry and never left. Shot by an Alaska expedition film crew with 20 years of access. Concept for cruise lines, travel brands, and expedition brands.

May 11. Juneau. It's pouring. We're not hiking the glacier today.

Four months later we're back — and there's a weather window. But we're flying out in the morning.

I turn to Andrew, our Production Manager, who's been filming for weeks straight. "Do you have enough left in the tank to hike the glacier tomorrow?"

He paused. "I really don't know, man. I haven't slept in days and I can't see straight right now." I didn't show it. But I felt exactly the same way.

We cancelled the flights, called the guides, and set our alarms for 3:30 AM. Some stories are worth it.

That's the WABU way.

“When we come around the peninsula and see the glacier, everyones face
changes...they are just in awe.”
